Slime Molds (6/8)
Plasmodium phase of Fuligo septica, commonly known as Scrambled Egg Slime and Dog Vomit Slime. Like many similar plasmodial slime molds, in this portion of its life cycle, an aggregate mass of undifferentiated cells move about in an amoeboid-like fashion absorbing nutrients across a substrate. This stage precedes formation of fruiting bodies (sporangia). Hocking County, Ohio, USA.
