Snail's-eye-view of a newly developing Amanita mushroom (Amanita sp. section Lepidella) pushing up out of the leaf litter in a mature deciduous hardwood forest. Possibly Amanita daucipes, which was found blooming nearby, and is a Lepidella known for it's wooly swollen stalk base. Monongahela National Forest, West Virginia, USA
